What is the difference between Consortium Loan Service and Interlibrary Loan?

Answer

Consortium Loan Service (CLS) allows UDC students, faculty, and staff to request books and other physical materials from the other member libraries of the Washington Research Library Consortium. You may request that items be delivered to the UDC Library for you to pick up. You may be able to visit member libraries in person to use or borrow materials, but please contact the member library to confirm visitor policies and hours before you visit.

Interlibrary Loan is a service that allows UDC students, faculty, and staff to request journal articles not available at UDC, as well as books and other physical materials not available through Consortium Loan Service.
