Ebola can only contracted through direct contact with a the body fluids of a person who is actively showing symptoms of the virus. Ebola is not transmitted through the air (like influenza).  A person is not contagious unless he or she is suffering from symptoms, such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.   This unlike the a common cold virus - a person can pass along the common cold even if they are not suffering from symptoms.  See the CDC website for more information: http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/
