Answer

When library fines reach $25.00, all activity on a student account becomes frozen (called a "financial bar").Students cannot register for classes, receive transcripts, or graduate.

Until campus-wide implementation of the BANNER system, the following procedures must be followed to pay library fines:

Students with library fines should come to the LRD Circulation Desk (Building 41, Level 5) any time that the library is open. They must request a bill that lists the total amount of their fines.

This bill must be taken to the UDC cashier's office (Building 39, Level 2, Room 201). This is the ONLY place where payments can be made. No payments are accepted at LRD. The cashier's office will provide a receipt that the bill has been paid in full.

The receipt must be taken back to the LRD Circulation Desk (Building 41, Level 5) in order for the library account to be cleared.

The BANNER system will connect all student accounts and simplify the process considerably.
